Liton Kumar Das was born on February 16, 1994. He is a Bangladeshi cricketer. Liton Das is a talented Bangladeshi cricketer who is a right-handed opening batsman and wicketkeeper.

Liton Das will be 27 years old in 2021. He completed his school and university education in his hometown. He is a Bangladeshi cricketer from Rangpur. He has a record in ODI cricket (176) in Bangladesh.

Litton Kumar Das was born in Dinajpur into a Bengali Hindu family. He followed a common path to become a cricketer in Bangladesh. He studied in BKSP and played for age group teams.

In September 2019, Das married his longtime girlfriend Devashri Biswas Sonchita who is a farmer.

He successfully completed the Secondary School Certificate in Dinajpur, Bangladesh. He then attended BKSP cricket training. He studied at BKSP and played for age group teams in Bangladesh. Now he is an undergraduate student at a private university in Bangladesh.

Domestic and T20 Franchise Career

He played for Bangladesh at the 2012 and 2014 World Under-19 Championships. Liton Das played for the Rangpur Division of the National Cricket League in 2014/15. He scored five centuries and finished the seven-game season with 1,024 runs at an 85.33 average. He scored his first double century in top-flight cricket in January 2017, playing for East Zone in 2016/17.

In January 2017, Das scored his first double century in top-flight cricket, playing for East Zone in the 2016–17 Bangladesh Cricket League. As a result, he was recalled to Bangladesh's Test squad for their one-off game against India in February 2017.

Liton Das scored the most runs in Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League 2016/17 with 752 in 14 games. As of April 2018, he was the leading run scorer in the 2017–18 Bangladesh Cricket League with 779 runs in six games including 274 runs in an innings.

Das played for Gazi Group Barishal in Bangabandhu T20 Cup 2020-21. In April 2021, he was signed by Karachi Kings to take part in the rescheduled Pakistan Super League 2021 matches.

In November 2022 he was selected to play for the Rajshahi Royals in the 2022–20 Bangladesh Premier League and he scored 455 runs in that tournament. He will play for Gazi Group Barishal in the 2022-21 Bangabandhu T20 Cup.

International Career

Liton Das made his Test debut against India on 10 June 2015. He made his One Day International debut on June 18, 2015, also against India.

On July 5, 2015, he made his Twenty20 International debut against South Africa. On 2 March 2017 Das Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim was asked to play as batsman only, with Das becoming the wicket-keeper for the Test series against Sri Lanka.

In June 2018, Bangladesh toured the West Indies and the United States for two Tests, three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals. In the first Test, Bangladesh recorded their lowest team total in Tests, with Das managing to enter double digits among other batsmen - just 25 balls out of 53 in a losing matter, setting a record for Das.

In the third t20 match against West Indies, he achieved his first white-ball half-century with 24 balls and his first over-50 finish in 17 innings with 61 runs that eventually sealed the T20I series 2-1 and also ended up winning Player of the won game award.

On September 28, 2018, Das scored his first ODI century against India in the 2018 Asian Cup final, going on to make 121 (117) with 12 boundaries and 2 sixes. He would eventually be named Man of the Match for his efforts, although Bangladesh lost the match with the last ball.

In April 2019, Das was called up to Bangladesh's squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup. He made his World Cup debut against the West Indies where he recorded 94 runs unbeaten and formed a 189-run unbeaten partnership with Shakib Al Hasan that helped Bangladesh to a famous 7-wicket win.

When Zimbabwe toured Bangladesh in March 2020, Das scored 126 runs in the first ODI, his second century in ODI and became the first Bangladeshi batsman to score a century in Sylhet. In the 3rd ODI he scored his 1000th run in ODIs and then made the highest partnership for Bangladesh for one wicket in ODIs (292 runs) along with Tamim Iqbal as well as 176 runs with 143 balls. He made the highest individual score of any Bangladeshi batsman in ODIs. Das scored 311 runs with an average of 103.68 in the ODI series and eventually became a "Player of the Tournament" along with Tamim Iqbal.

When West Indies toured Bangladesh in February 2021, he was one of the leading run scorers and the highest run scorer for Bangladesh in the Test series, scoring 200 runs including two half centuries.

In March 2021, Bangladesh toured New Zealand for the 3-match ODI and T20I series. He failed with Fledermaus in both the ODI and T20I series. In the third T20I, he captained Bangladesh in T20I for the first time in the absence of regular captain Mahmudullah who was out due to injury and Bangladesh lost the rain-shortened 10-overs match by 65 runs, eventually losing the T20I series by 3 –0 also.

In June 2021, he was called up to Bangladesh's all-format squad for their tour to Zimbabwe. During the first innings of the one-off Test against Zimbabwe, he finished five runs short of his first Test century. He co-sponsored a 138-run partnership with Mahmudullah, which was the second highest seventh wicket partnership and the highest seventh wicket partnership for Bangladesh in Tests.

In September 2021, he was called up to Bangladesh's squad for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. In November 2021, Das scored his first century in Test cricket in the first game against Pakistan.

As Bangladesh toured New Zealand for a two-Test series in January 2022, he played an important shot of 86 runs as he registered Bangladesh's first win in New Zealand and their first Test win over New Zealand at the Bay Oval. In the second Test, he hit 102 carries from 114 balls in their second innings, which was his first Test century in away games. However, Bangladesh lost the match by one innings and 117 runs. He was the top run getter for Bangladesh in the series where he accumulated 196 runs in 2 matches.

As of January 2022, he achieved his career-high Test ranking of No. 12 as a Test batsman in the world in the ICC men's players ranking, which is the highest in the history of Bangladesh cricket.

He was named Player of the Series against Afghanistan in a 3-match ODI series in Chattogram. He hit 223 runs, including a Century (136) and a Fifty (86).
