It was not a good day for Bangladeshi bowler Taskin Ahmed when he made an unwanted record in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL).  He conceded 107 runs in 10 overs against Gazi Group Cricketers while playing for Mohammedan Sporting Club. It was the most expensive spell by a Bangladeshi bowler in List A cricket.

Taskin had a tough run during the game at BKSP's Ground No. 4, even though he took three wickets.  Shahadat Hossain had previously held the bad record with 104 runs conceded against South Africa in 2010. Taskin’s 107-run bowling record surpassed that record. He conceded 33 runs in his first 3 overs of his first spell.  Then in his second spell, he conceded 21 runs in 3 overs taking a wicket. After that, Taskin conceded 8 runs in 2 overs by taking 1 wicket in his third spell.  But the main carnage was done in his last two overs where he conceded 45 runs in two overs, one wicket.

Shahadat Hossain (104 runs in 2010) and Iqbal Hossain (104 runs in 9 overs in 2024) shared the record for Bangladesh's most expensive List A score before this match.  Taskin's bowling figure is now at the top of the list.

The 107-run spell that Taskin had is now the 11th most expensive bowling spell in List A history.  Bas de Leede of the Netherlands holds the bad record for most runs conceded in a match, with 115 against Australia in the 2023 World Cup in Delhi.
