Taskin Ahmed available for Pakistan Tests
After playing in June 2023, Taskin Ahmed was not included in the playing XI in Tests because he was struggling to bowl longer spells. However, he was still available for selection in the red-ball format. He has made frequent appearances in white-ball cricket, but he has been sidelined by a shoulder injury during Test matches.

Prior to the Test series against Pakistan, Bayjedul Islam Khan, the physiotherapist for the Bangladesh National Cricket Team, gave an update regarding Taskin Ahmed's injuries. He declared that the fast bowler can participate in the game's longest format because he has been recovering from his injury.

Bangladesh has just begun training ahead of the away series against Pakistan, with all eyes on Taskin's fitness. Taskin's ability to manage his injury was validated by BCB physiotherapist Bayjedul Islam Khan following the first day's training. He counseled Taskin to concentrate on his exercise regimen and adhere to the rehabilitation program. The bowler is feeling better, he continued, and he will be available to play against Pakistan.
“Taskin has played in the T20 format as of late. So, he did not bowl for long spells during this period. He had a shoulder issue, which he even got rechecked during the T20 World Cup. The thing is, the damage he had at that time, is exactly the same now as it has not aggravated," Bayjedul said.
“A player can play by managing these [types of injuries]. If he continues his rehabilitation and the workouts, Taskin can survive. Based on that, Taskin is definitely available. But as for bowling workload in Tests, where you need to bowl longer spells, a player needs to get up to that speed. So, he will try to do that, and if he feels better then he can definitely play in Tests,” he added.
The two-match Test series will start on August 21 and Bangladesh will travel to Pakistan on August 17. The series will begin with a game in Rawalpindi, and the second game will be held in Karachi.
