India clinched the five-match series 3-1 after securing a 15-run victory over England in the fourth T20I at MCA Stadium, Pune, on Friday, January 31. Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav praised the "top effort" of his team, especially the crucial partnership between Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube, who rescued India from a difficult situation after the team lost three wickets in one over during the powerplay.

Saqib Mahmood was on fire early in the game, reducing India to 10/3 with a stunning over, dismissing Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma, and Suryakumar Yadav. Things worsened for India as Abhishek Sharma and Rinku Singh were also dismissed, leaving India struggling at 79/5 before the 11th over. However, Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube stitched together a crucial 87-run stand to guide India to a competitive total of 181/9.

Speaking at the post-match presentation, Suryakumar Yadav acknowledged the tough position India found themselves in after losing three wickets early but lauded the positivity and experience shown by Pandya and Dube.

"A top effort from everyone. A great crowd, they were always behind us. We didn't want to go back after 10/3. Three wickets in one over was too much. The way Hardik and Dube showed their experience was great. This is one thing we've been talking about - you bat the same way you bat in the nets. I think we are moving in the right direction," Yadav said.

He also praised Harshit Rana, who came in as the third seamer and played a vital role in India's bowling attack. "I knew we could control the game after the powerplay. We picked a few wickets. Post drinks, Harshit Rana came in as the third seamer and delivered," Yadav added.

Despite a strong start from England, who were 62/0 at the end of the powerplay, India's bowlers managed to regain control of the match. Wickets at crucial intervals and some excellent death bowling restricted England, who eventually fell short of the target, finishing at 166
