Australia have dominated the entire day two of Galle Test. Usman Khawaja smashed his maiden double hundred, while Josh Inglis got his maiden Test century on his debut in style. Before the stumps Sri Lanka lost three wickets to the Aussie bowlers.
Josh Inglis smashed his maiden Test hundred on debut, while Usman Khawaja blasted his maiden double hundred as Australia dominated the entire day two in Galle.The day started with Usman Khawaja and stand-in skipper Steve Smith piled on runs. Steve Smith was pinned on for LBW off Jeffrey Vandersay after scoring a marvellous 141. Josh Inglis came in and supported Usman Khawaja propelry.
Inglis was smashing things ins and outs and brought up a fine fifty. Usman Khawaja on the other hand, notched up his maiden double hundred in Test Cricket as the Aussies further piled on the runs.
Khawaja and Inglis stitched a massive 146-run stand together before Prabath Jayasuriya removed Khawaja after his marathon 232 run knock. Inglis smashed a hundred on debut in style but he immediately fell to Jayasuriya on 102.
Wicketkeeper batter Alex Carey and Beau Webster then stitched a little partnership, whereas Carey made an unbeaten 46* as Australia piled up a mammoth 654-6 and declared.
Sri Lanka had to survive 15 overs before the stumps but the lethal bowling from Mitchell Starc, Matthew Kuhnemann and Nathan Lyon had one wicket each to reduce Sri Lanka to a paltry 44-3 runs, left them trailing by 610 runs.
