Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is all set to make his much-anticipated return to the Test squad for the first time since his life-threatening car accident in December 2022. The dynamic player, known for his fearless approach, has been included in the squad for India's upcoming Test series against Bangladesh, with the first match scheduled to begin on September 19 in Chennai.

Since his remarkable recovery, Pant has featured in both T20Is and ODIs, impressing fans and selectors alike with solid performances. Now, all eyes will be on the left-hander as he prepares to don the whites for India once again. Former India captain Sourav Ganguly, who has been closely following Pant's journey, believes the 26-year-old is on the path to becoming one of the finest Test cricketers India has ever produced.

“I consider Rishabh Pant one of India's best Test batsmen. I'm not surprised that he's back in the side, and he will continue to play for India in Tests,” Ganguly said during a promotional event in Kolkata, as reported by PTI.

Rishabh Pant marked his return to the longer format earlier this year in the Duleep Trophy. After an underwhelming first-inning score of 7, Pant made a resounding comeback in the second inning, smashing a blistering 61 off just 47 deliveries. His fifty in that game went down as the fastest in Duleep Trophy history.

“He will be an all-time great in tests if he keeps performing like this. For me, he needs to get better in the shorter formats. With the talent he has, I'm sure with time, he will become one of the best,” Ganguly added
