Opening the innings for Delhi alongside Arnav Bugga, Aaryavir showed maturity beyond his years as he faced 229 deliveries, hitting 34 boundaries and two towering sixes. His sensational innings helped Delhi take a lead on the four-day match, which is a part of the BCCI-organized tournament for players under the age of 19.
Arnav Bugga provided solid support at the other end, smashing 114 off 108 balls to build a powerful opening partnership. This remarkable display of batting prowess by the young duo ensured that Delhi ended Day 2 in a commanding position at 468 for 2 in just 81 overs, with Aaryavir still unbeaten and Dhanya Nakra contributing a steady 98* to solidify Delhi's control.
Aaryavir’s innings comes just weeks after his promising debut in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, where he scored 49 runs in a winning effort against Manipur. His consistent performances are beginning to echo his father’s iconic batting style, and cricket fans are excited to witness the rise of another Sehwag in Indian cricket.
Interestingly, Virender Sehwag had previously shared his son's cricketing ambitions, mentioning that Aaryavir was keen to make a mark, with an eye on securing an IPL contract in the near future. Sehwag also joked, "Yes, my kids know I have made some humongous scores in Test cricket. So I have told them, if you cross that 319-run mark even in school cricket, I will present you a Ferrari."
