Shubman Gill's childhood coach Karsan Ghavri highlighted the difference between Gill and Prithvi Shaw. Karsan said that if Prithvi does not work, there will be no profit even getting talent.

Gill and Shaw - both played under-19 together. Both were openers. Due to talent, Shaw's international debut came a little earlier. But in the evolution of time, Shaw has not yet found his lost rhythm.

On the other hand, Gill is constantly surpassing himself. Even Kohli himself called him the next star. Why is the current path of two cricketers playing at the same time different? Karsan told the reason for that.

"They were in the same team that won the U-19 World Cup in 2018, right? Today where is Prithvi Shaw and where is Shubman Gill? They are in two different categories," Karsan Ghavri was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

"Shaw thinks he is a star and nobody can touch him. But he needs to understand that at the international level, irrespective of whether you are playing T20, 50 over or the Test match or even the Ranji Trophy, it takes only one delivery to get you out.”

He added, "You require discipline and a good temperament. You need to constantly work on yourself. You are required to occupy the crease, and if you do that, you are bound to get more runs."

Shaw was dropped from the team for using banned drugs. Then he got involved in a new controversy before the Indian Premier League (IPL) and also flopped in the tournament. On the other hand, Gill is the highest run-scorer in this year's IPL. However, according to Karsan, Shaw is still very young. He has not lost anything from is life yet.

"They are of the same age. Nothing has been lost yet. Gill has worked on his flaws, while Shaw hasn't. He still can. He needs to work hard; otherwise, there is no point in having so much potential," he further said.
