Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto expressed his satisfaction and optimism following Bangladesh's emphatic 6-wicket victory over Pakistan on September 3, which completed a historic 2-0 Test series whitewash at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Shanto praised the performance of the opening batters, noting, "Joy missed out because he has some niggles, but the way Shadman batted, especially the first 93 runs innings, it was excellent. And this innings, the way Zakir approached the first six, seven overs, I think the momentum came to us, and then that's what we want from both of them."

Reflecting on the middle order's role, Shanto highlighted the importance of the upcoming series against India. He said, "Very important. I think the next series is very important, and this series gives us a lot of confidence. And as you mentioned, Mushi bhai, Shakib bhai, Litton, and Mominul, they’re all experienced players. They show their experience, and I hope they will do better than this in the India series."

In the match, Bangladesh demonstrated an impressive all-around performance. After choosing to bowl first, they dismissed Pakistan for 274 in the first innings, with Mehidy Hasan Miraz taking a crucial five-wicket haul. Despite a challenging start, where Bangladesh fell to 26/6, Litton Das (138) and Miraz (78) forged a remarkable 165-run partnership, bringing the team back into contention.

In the second innings, the pace duo of Hasan Mahmud and Nahid Rana proved devastating, dismissing Pakistan for a mere 172 runs. Despite a few quick wickets, Shanto (38) and Mominul Haque’s vital partnership, along with contributions from Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan, guided Bangladesh to a historic 2-0 series victory.
