Bangladesh's ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan's picture has been removed from the NCTB book, English for Today, Class 7.

Previous edition of the book which was featured by Shakib Al Hasan and Kazi Salahuddin. 

The pictures of Shakib Al Hasan, along with Bangladesh Football great Kazi Salauddin were incorporated of eight famous sports personalities from around the world in Unit seven. But these two pictures have been removed from this edition of book and so is India's batting great Sachin Tendulkar.

Current edition of the textbook, featuring by Nigar Sultana, Jamal Bhuiyan and Rani Hamid. 

The previous print of this topic had the pictures of Brazilian great Pele, Caribbean southpaw and batting great Brian Lara, Bangladesh legendary mountaineer Nishat Majumdar, World Tennis great Serena Williams, Football legend Diego Maradona and also Kazi Salahuddin.

The pictures of Salahuddin, Shakib and Tendulkar have all been dropped and replaced by Bangladesh Football team's captain Jamal Bhuiyan, Bangladesh women's Cricket team's captain Nigar Sultana and Bangladeshi veteran chess player Rani Hamid.

Shakib Al Hasan was a parliament member of Bangladesh Awami League, ousted Bangladesh government and he got backlashes from his fans for being silent during the 2024 Bangladesh uprise. However, Kazi Salahuddin had no political affiliation.
