Following a third evaluation of his bowling action in England, Bangladesh cricket star Shakib Al Hasan has been given the all-clear to bowl again in all forms.  So, he's no longer suspended, and he can go back to being a full-fledged all-rounder in both international and domestic cricket.

The news spread late at night on social media, with one of Shakib's close friends posting about it.  Later, Shakib himself told a Bangladeshi newspaper that the story was true.  He worked on his bowling action for months before passing the test in March 2025. This meant he could bowl again in all forms of the game.

People paid close attention to Shakib's bowling when he was playing for Surrey in England's County Championship.  His bowling came under scrutiny in September 2024. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) looked into what he did during a game against Somerset after revealing it.  The ECB said his move was illegal and banned him from bowling after an official review.

Shakib tried to change how he did things to make a comeback and was evaluated twice, first in England and then in Chennai, India.  Both tests went badly for him, so he couldn't play in any international cricket tournaments, not even the 2025 Champions Trophy, where he was supposed to be very important for Bangladesh.

During this time, Shakib continued to only play as a batter in domestic leagues and did not play for the national team.

Shakib spent a lot of time working on his move with the help of Surrey's head coach, Gareth Batty.  Finally, in March 2025, he passed his third and final test, which meant he could bowl again in all forms.

Shakib hasn't said for sure that he will be back with the Bangladesh national team yet, but being able to bowl again should make him more popular in international and club cricket.

In addition to his work in cricket, Shakib's involvement in politics in Bangladesh made his job even more controversial.  He was a member of parliament for the party that was in power at the time, but after the student-led revolution that overthrew the government in August 2024, he was charged with many crimes.

Because of these political problems, he has not been able to play for Bangladesh since late 2024.  In the Kanpur Test against India, it was his last time playing for his country. His last ODI was during the 2023 World Cup.  Also, Shakib retired from T20 internationals after the 2024 T20 World Cup.
