For Bangladesh, Mohammad Salahuddin has been that guiding light, long revered as the coach behind the success of the country’s top cricketers. From legends like Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal to emerging stars like Mahedi Hasan, Salahuddin has been the go-to problem-solver for generations of players. Now, as part of the national team’s coaching staff, his presence has given players renewed confidence and inspiration.

Mahedi Hasan, who has worked closely with Salahuddin since the beginning of his career, expressed his gratitude for having the coach by his side at the international level.

"When I started playing domestic cricket, I began under his guidance. He knows me very well, and having him on the field boosts my confidence. If I make a mistake, he spots it immediately and communicates the message. Having someone like him around really helps you feel bolder and more motivated," said Mahedi.

Salahuddin was recently appointed as the senior assistant coach of the Bangladesh national team. Shortly afterward, he also took over the role of batting coach, replacing David Hemp. Salahuddin’s return to the national team has been widely welcomed, given his unparalleled success as a coach. He previously served as the assistant and fielding coach for Bangladesh from 2006 to 2010.

Known for his technical expertise, Salahuddin holds an ACC and Cricket Australia Level Three coaching certificate. His achievements include multiple titles in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and a championship in the Dhaka Premier League. With such an illustrious record, it’s no surprise that Salahuddin’s presence has become a significant boost for the current squad, particularly younger players like Mahedi who are eager to learn from him.

Salahuddin’s involvement in the team represents more than just technical improvement—it’s a source of mental strength and confidence. His ability to detect even the smallest flaws and address them instantly is a skill that has elevated his status as one of Bangladesh’s most successful coaches in history.
