The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is already in full swing. On the second day of the tournament, Rohit Sharma, an experienced batter for Mumbai Indians (MI), was shockingly out for a duck against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).  This bad luck made Rohit the player with the most ducks (0 runs) in IPL history. It was his 18th duck in the tournament's history.

When Rohit Sharma led India to win in the T20 World Cup, he retired from T20I cricket last year.  But after 11 months, his return to T20 cricket ended in failure.  On Sunday, Rohit was batting against Chennai Super Kings. In the first over, he got out when he edged a ball from Khaleel Ahmed right into Shivam Dube's hands.

With this removal, Rohit Sharma has been out for no runs 18 times in the IPL, which is the most in the history of the event.  He shares this unwanted record with Dinesh Karthik and Glenn Maxwell.

Even though this unwanted record, Rohit reached another important milestone in this match.  With 258 IPL games, he passed Dinesh Karthik (257) to become the second-most-capped player in IPL history, after MS Dhoni (265 games).
