Glamorgan have appointed Richard Dawson as their interim coach following Grant Bradburn's sudden departure last month amid allegations of discriminatory behavior.

Glamorgan have appointed Richard Dawson as interim head coach until the end of the season. A former England off-spinner during his playing days in Yorkshire, Dawson joined the England senior coaching team as Elite Performance Pathway coach in 2021, after being head coach of the England Lions' tour of Australia in 2020.

Dawson was most recently part of the England men's white ball coaching team, having previously managed the England under-19 team. He coached Gloucestershire for six years, securing promotion from Division One in 2019 and taking part in the T20 Finals Day in 2020, before moving on to work with ECB's performance development team in 2021.

“I am delighted to be joining Glamorgan as head coach next season,” said Dawson. “I have a good idea of ​​how the club operates having spent time with Welsh Fire over the years. I look forward to working with the club’s players and coaches and building on the success achieved in the 50-over competition last season.”

Dawson is currently part of the England Lions coaching staff in Australia and will officially take up his role as interim head coach in March after completing his duties with the Women's Premier League in India.
