India won the toss and opted to bowl first. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma must have thought for some seam movements in the pitch after continuous raining in the last week in Brisbane. But the pitch lacked the seam movement.
Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj looked lacklustre, while Usman Khawaja was looking in sublime touch, scoring boundaries flawlessly and relentlessly. While Nathan McSweeney looked a bit gutsy and scratchy. The rain arrived after just 25 minutes of play and a half-way delay came in.
After the delay, Akash Deep, who came to replace Harshit Rana found line and length and troubled Nathan McSweeney for some occasions. However, McSweeney managed to see him off as he's now unbeaten on 4* off 33 balls. While Usman Khawaja is unbeaten on 19* off 47 deliveries, including three boundaries to his name.
