With a quick 15-ball fifty, Parvez Hossain Emon broke records for the fastest half-century ever in Bangladesh domestic cricket. This helped Abahani Limited beat Shinepukur Cricket Club by 10 wickets in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) on Sunday (April 6).
Emon didn't waste any time when he started the chase with Jishan Alam. From the very first over, he attacked the Shinepukur bowlers with aggressive batting. The left-handed batter hit fifty in just 15 balls, which is now the fastest ever fifty in DPL history and beats all previous records.
He finally scored 61 runs off of 23 balls, hitting 4 fours and 6 huge sixes that helped Abahani reach the small goal in just 6.4 overs. Jishan was a good assist player; he scored 17* off 17 balls.
At the start of the day, Abahani's focused bowling attack made Shinepukur dismantled. They were put to bat first and were out for just 88 runs in 25.4 overs. Only Minhajul Abedin Sabbir put up some fight, hitting 38 runs to lead the way.
Abahani's best bowler was Mosaddek Hossain, who took 4 wickets. Ripon Mondol and Rakibul Hasan each took 2 wickets, making use of their skill to the lower order.
