Pakistan (PAK) will face Bangladesh (BAN) in the 31st match of the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup on October 31 at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
After two consecutive defeats in the last four matches, Pakistan will be aiming for a win in their next match against Bangladesh. The duel between PAK and BAN at the ICC World Cup 2023 will take place on Tuesday, October 31st. The venue for the game is the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata.
The outcome of this match is of huge importance for Pakistan as they need to secure a win to keep their hopes alive in the tournament. Given the high stakes, team management is considering several changes to their lineup.
After recovering from a knee injury, Fakhar Zaman is now fit and available for selection. He is expected to replace Imam-ul-Haq.
Abdullah Shafique is one of Pakistan's standout players in the ongoing ODI World Cup. He is the team's second highest run-scorer, scoring 264 runs in five matches at an average of 52.80 and a strike rate of 94.28, including a century and two fifties. His best innings came against Sri Lanka where he scored 113 off 103 balls.
Shadab Khan is facing fitness issues as he did not bowl during the training session on Monday. This is related to a head injury he sustained in the game against South Africa, which appears to be affecting his overall well-being.
Furthermore, Salman Ali Agha could take Mohammad Nawaz's place in the final XI.
Hassan Ali was ruled out of the South Africa game due to illness. Consequently, Mohammad Wasim Jnr stepped in for Hassan Ali in the previous game and is expected to retain his place in the starting XI, leaving Hasan Ali out of the lineup.
Remember, the Men in Green lost four games in a row in this World Cup after winning the first two games.
Pakistan's expected playing XI
Fakhar Zaman, Abdullah Shafique, Babar Azam (C), Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Saud Shakeel, Iftikhar Ahmed, Salman Ali Agha, Usama Mir, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Haris Rauf
