The Pakistani women continued their flawless run at the ICC World Cup Qualifier, defeating Thailand by 87 runs to secure a spot in the mega event scheduled for later this year.
Hosts Pakistan continued their unbeaten run at the ICC Women's World Cup Qualifier with a convincing 87-run victory over bottom-placed Thailand on Thursday, qualifying for the mega event scheduled for later this year.
Pakistan captain Fatima Sana's decision to bat first paid off, with her team's batting line-up posting an impressive total of 205/6 in the allotted 50 overs.
The home team was led by top-order batsman Sidra Amin and captain Fatima Sana, who both scored half-centuries.
Amin topped the Greens' tally with 80 from 105 balls, including nine fours, while Sana scored an unbeaten 62 from 59 balls, including six fours and one six. The pair also saved Pakistan from being 85-4 in the deficit by adding a vital 97-run fifth-wicket stand.
Thipatcha Putthawong was the pick of the bowlers for Thailand with two wickets, with Onnicha Kamchomphu and Nattaya Boochatham each getting a scalp.
The batting unit of Thailand, which was targeting a 206-run score, could only score 118 runs in 34.4 overs, giving Pakistan an early World Cup qualification. Wicketkeeper Nannapat Koncharoenkai was the leading scorer for Thailand with a 19-run innings.
Alongside her, Nattaya Boochatham (16), Suwanan Khiaoto (15), Natthakan Chantham (13), Naruemol Chaiwai (12), and Thipatcha Putthawong (10) were the other notable run-getters.
For Pakistan, skipper Sana, Rameen Shamim, and Nashra Sandhu each took three wickets, while Sadia Iqbal added one.
