Oman fined for slow over rate against Zimbabwe

Oman has been fined 40 percent of his match fee for showing a slow over-rate in Thursday's ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Qualifier match against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo.
Oman was penalized for maintaining a slow over-rate in their Super Six game against Zimbabwe, while fast bowler Kaleemullah also received an additional penalty for his conduct in the encounter.
The side were fined 40 percent of their game fee following their ODI in Bulawayo on Thursday, under Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Staff, which relates to minimum over-rate violations.
Muhammad Javed of the ICC International Panel of Match Referees imposed the sanction after Oman was found to be two overs off target, allowing for the time constraints.
In according to Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Players' Staff, which relates to minimum exceeding of violations, players will be fined 20 percent of their game fee if their team does not bowl within the allotted time.
Captain Zeeshan Maqsood pleaded guilty to the offense and accepted the proposed sanction, eliminating the need for a formal hearing.
Meanwhile, Omani player Kaleemullah was reprimanded for violating Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct in the same game.
Kaleemullah was found to have violated Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Players' Staff, which refers to "the use of language, actions or gestures that might denigrate a batsman or provoke an aggressive reaction to his sending off during an attack, refers." International game."
The incident happened in the 12th over of Zimbabwe's innings when Kaleemullah bowled Zimbabwe's skipper for 25 before running in Ervine's direction and celebrating the wicket in close proximity to the batsman.
Kaleemullah was found to have violated Article 2.5 of the Code of Conduct, which refers to "the use of language, actions or gestures that might denigrate a batsman or provoke an aggressive reaction to his sending off during an international match".
The fast bowler accepted the sanction after field umpires Roland Black and Wayne Knights, third umpire Asif Yaqoob and fourth umpire Martin Saggers brought the charges.
A minus point was added to the 32-year-old's tally and the incident was his first offense in two years.
