Bangladesh got the bitter taste of its sixth consecutive defeat in the current World Cup. After a win against Afghanistan in the first match, Shakib Al Hasan's team has become a completely opposite team. Captain Shakib is also not having a good time as a player. He was also low on confidence before taking the field against Pakistan.

Bangladesh were all out for 204 runs in 45.1 overs. Chasing an easy target, Pakistan won by 7 wickets in just 32.3 overs.
Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan credits Pakistan who showed power with bat and ball in the beginning. After the match, he said, “Not enough runs. Wicket was really good. We lost early wicket. We had partnerships but not big ones that'd allowed us to go big in the last ten. We should've bowled better too. Pakistan did well in the first ten overs, credit to them too.”
Shakib did not play in the ongoing World Cup match against India due to injury. Moreover, he scored only 61 runs in other matches, averaging around 13. After a five-match failure, he finally got some runs against Pakistan. Although he struggled a lot in the beginning. After playing in a Test mood, he hit some boundaries and increased his strike rate before getting out.
Shakib scored 43 runs off 64 balls. In this World Cup, he scored 104 runs in six innings at an average of 17.33 and a strike rate of 64.59. Shakib himself is disappointed with this. As a result, he came down to bat at No. 6 position against Pakistan.
Shakib added, “We have to think about my batting order. I was batting early, didn't score runs. My confidence was low too. In this stage, changing too many things seems difficult. We are trying to force things but it isn't working. At this moment, we have to perform together, which is not happening. We are looking for answers but aren't getting it. Everywhere we go, fans come to the ground and are always behind us. They are our biggest strength.”
