Thirteen Bangladeshi cricketers have entered the pool for the upcoming IPL Mega Auction, scheduled for November 24-25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Heading the list is left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman, who has registered in the highest price category with a base price of INR 2 crore. Alongside him, notable players like Taskin Ahmed, Towhid Hridoy, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Shakib Al Hasan, and Litton Das are set to vie for spots on IPL rosters.

Mustafizur, who played for Chennai Super Kings last season, took 14 wickets in 11 matches, but CSK did not retain him for the upcoming season. In addition to Mustafizur, veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz, and fast bowler Taskin Ahmed have each set their base prices at INR 1 crore. Shakib, a seasoned IPL player with nine seasons under his belt, last played for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2021, while Taskin and Miraz would be debutants if picked. Taskin previously garnered interest from Lucknow Super Giants but could not participate due to NOC restrictions from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

Additionally, nine Bangladeshi players have registered in the INR 75 lakh base price category: Towhid Hridoy, Rishad Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, Hasan Mahmud, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Litton Das, Shoriful Islam, Nahid Rana, and Shahidul Islam. With the exception of Litton Das, who was picked by Kolkata in the past but only played one game, all would be playing in the IPL for the first time if selected. Towhid Hridoy and Shoriful Islam previously gained T20 league experience in Sri Lanka’s LPL, while Tanzim Hasan Sakib will make his debut in franchise cricket with the Global Super League.

A total of 1,574 players have registered for the IPL auction, including 409 international cricketers. Each franchise will have a total budget cap of INR 120 crore for both retention and new acquisitions, aiming to build their squads for the 2024 season.
