Tuesday was the planned arrival day for the squad in India. But Hurricane Beryl put a two-day hold on their departure from Barbados. By Thursday morning, they had successfully departed the island and were able to touch down in India. Before heading to Mumbai for a victory parade down Marine Drive and a felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium, the Indian squad met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the morning.
A video of the Mohammad Siraj's boisterous arrival in Hyderabad was published by PTI. Before the game, the 30-year-old right-arm pacer had asked the crowd to join him in his win celebration. In his Instagram story he wrote: "Seee youuu alll in Hyderabad."
After Mohammed Siraj's three games in the Twenty20 World Cup came to a close, Kuldeep Yadav joined the starting lineup immediately following the conclusion of the USA leg of the tournament. It was a smart choice by India to replace Siraj with Kuldeep in the squad, as the Caribbean conditions were better suited to spinners.
Kuldeep was instrumental in India's triumph, taking 10 wickets in five games with an economy rate of 6.95 and an average of 13.90. In contrast, Siraj took one wicket in three games while averaging 57 runs and conceding 5.18 runs per over.
