Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir suffered a hamstring injury during the 2023 Caribbean Premier League Eliminator match between Jamaica Tallawahs and St. Lucia Kings on Monday.
Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir, who is in the headlines these days due to speculation that he will make it to Pakistan's squad for the World Cup, suffered an injury during the Caribbean Premier League on Tuesday.
However, the speedster hoped that he would be back in action soon.
“I'll be fine InshaAllah, I took medication last week for a stomach infection, so it's just cramps. Hopefully the thigh muscles will get better by Friday,” said Amir.
It is worth noting that Amir is the second highest wicket-taker in the ongoing CPL 2023 where he has bagged 15 wickets in 9 matches.
He retired from international cricket in 2020 and is active in franchise cricket. Nonetheless, he is in the headlines these days amid speculation whether he could be included in Pakistan's squad for the 2023 World Cup as a replacement for Naseem Shah.
However, Waqar Younis denied this and said he was hurt by Amir's comments.
The pacer currently plays in the Caribbean Premier League for Jamaica Tallawahs where he has picked up 15 wickets in nine matches.
Despite talks within the cricket fraternity, Amir has shown no signs of coming out of retirement. He has repeatedly said that Pakistan currently has many pacers and he continues to focus on franchise leagues across the world.
