The 36-year-old was enticed out of his initial Test retirement by captain Ben Stokes ahead of the series due to fellow spinner Jack Leach's back injury, but will not extend his comeback.
But he was asked what he would do if Stokes send a return message before the next series? Moeen jokingly said that if Stokes gives a message then he will delete it.
"If I get a message from Stokesy again, I'm going to delete it," Moeen told the BBC. "It feels amazing. To come back was obviously a little bit daunting because I've never played that well against Australia and it was one of those things when Stokesy asked me I thought: "Why not, I'm going to go into a brilliant side and I still believe I can do alright," and it's just great to be back part of this amazing team.”
Moeen decided to bid farewell to Test cricket in September 2021. After sticking to his decision for a long time, communication between Rob Key, Brendon McCullum, and Ben Stokes led to his coming out of retirement.
Ali ended with the stat line of 3/76 as England won the fifth game by 49 runs to tie the series at 2-2.
