England have steamrolled Bangladesh by 137 runs on Tuesday (10th October) at Dharamsala. Malan's outstanding 140 aided by Root's majestic 82 helped England post an indomitable total of 364 on the board. In reply, Litton and Mushfiqur rose to the occasion and scored fifties but except them no one couldn’t come stronger and Bangladesh horribly surrendered to England which resulted a 137 run loss.
Earlier after winning the toss Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan chose to bowl first. But the decision backfired Bangladesh. England openers put on a show with their brutal hitting. The duo raced to 115 off just 17.5 overs. Bairstow notched up a quick-fire fifty off just 59 balls and skipper Shakib bamboozled him and sent him packing. Joe Root joined the party with Dawid Malan, who already was smashing the Bangladeshi bowlers at ease. Root and Malan scored 151 runs together. Malan notched up a glorious hundred in the passage of partnership and made a swashbuckling 140 off just 107 balls before getting knocked over by Mahedi Hasan.
After the departure of Malan, Joe Root took the onus and he alone geared things up. He raced to 82 off only 68 balls before getting out to Shoriful. The left arm pacer brought Bangladesh back with two back to back wickets. His Knuckle ball knocked over Buttle and then got Livingstone as well in consecutive deliveries. But these wicket didn't bring luck for Bangladesh as England already crossed the threshold.
Harry Brook and Sam Curran had a handy partnership and they took England to 364.
In reply, Bangladesh lost their young opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim earlier. But Litton Das found his mojo back and smacked the English bowlers with his classical batting.
Bangladesh's best batter Najmul Shanto was flop and was knocked over by Reece Topley as he removed both Tanzid Tamim and Shanto in consecutive deliveries and was breathing fire. The riot would've been alright had he stopped there but he went for picking up another one and this time the skipper Shakib Al Hasan. He uprooted the stumps of Shakib and he went back to the pavilion scoring 1 off 9 balls.
Mushfiqur and Litton had a partnership but couldn’t make it long after the departure of both of them it became mere a formalities to end the match. Bangladesh were skittled for 227 and lost the match by 137 runs. England on the other hand, after having a tough start against Kiwis they found their rhythm back and came back in the winning track.
