The visitors have made three changes to their squad from the previous match. Shoriful Islam and Taijul Islam have dropped out for Mustafizur Rahman and Mrrittunjoy Chowdhury. This is all-rounder Mrittunjoy’s debut match for the national team. And the other change is by force as Shakib Al Hasan has been ruled out of the match due to a finger injury. Bangladesh hand the debut cap to Rony Talukdar in replace of Shakib.
On the other hand, Ireland have made one change. Pacer Graham Hume has been replaced by experienced pacer Craig Young.
The first match of the series was washed out due to immense rain. Bangladesh batted in that match but in reply, after Ireland’s 16.3 over, the match was abandoned.
In the rain-curtailed second ODI, Bangladesh chased down Ireland’s 320-run target and won the match by 3 wickets. Harry Tector hit a fantastic century for Ireland but Najmul Hossain Shanto and Towhid Hridoy’s outstanding batting gave Bangladesh a memorable win. Shanto also hit a half-century.
