Bangladesh have won the toss and elected to bat first in the first Test against Zimbabwe in the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Sunday (April 20).
Bangladesh have gone for 3 pacers and 1 spinner in the playing XI and an all-rounder. While Zimbabwe have gone for the same combination also.
Zakir Hasan misses out in the opening slot for Bangladesh as the team go for Shadman Islam and Mahmudul Hasan Joy. While among all the sweet selection dilemma about wicket-keeping options, Bangladesh select Jaker Ali Anik for the wicketkeeping duty.
On the other hand, Zimbabwe have the mix of experienced and new players in their playing XI.
The pitch in Sylhet is likely to have pace and bounce, which is different from the usual spin-friendly tracks in the subcontinent. Phil Simmons, the head coach, said that there's no need for a spin-heavy plan against Zimbabwe.
