Afghanistan have won the toss and elected to bat first against Bangladesh in the Super Eight of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 on Tuesday (June 25) at Kensington Oval in Kingstown.
Bangladesh have made two changes in the squad as Taskin Ahmed comes in for Jaker Ali and Soumya Sarkar replaces Mahedi Hasan in the playing XI. On the other hand, Afghanistan have named an unchanged squad for the match.
In the first match of the Super Eight, Bangladesh lost to Australia by 28 runs (DLS method) in their first match. And in the second match, they lost to India by 50 runs.
On the other hand, Afghanistan lost their first match of the Super Eight against India by 47 runs but they turned around in the next game and beat Australia by 21 runs.
If Afghanistan win this match, they will qualify for the semifinals. If they lose, Australia will qualify for the semifinals if Bangladesh win the match by less than 61 runs. If Bangladesh win by more than 61 runs, they will qualify for the knockouts.
