women have won the first T20I against Ireland women in a last-ball thriller at YMCA Cricket Club, Dublin. The Asian champions are leading the three-match series 1-0.

Bangladesh women elected to bowl first in the series opener. Opening bowler Jahanara Alam gave the Tigresses the perfect start with the wickets of Clare Shillington and Cecelia Joyce in her opening spell.
Gaby Lewis and skipper Laura Delany put on resistance. Gaby scored 16-ball 28 runs hitting 5 fours and a six. Delany made run-a-ball 20. Isobel Joyce top-scored in the innings with 41 off exact 41 balls including 4 fours.
Jahanara came back in the death ocers and picked three more wickets to become the first Bangladeshi woman to take a five-for in international cricket. Ireland women put 134/8 on board.
Bangladesh lost the wicket of Shamima Sultana early. Ayasha Rahman gave a start with 24 off 20. The visitors were in trouble due to low scoring rate. Nigar Sultana accelerated with 46 runs off 38 balls hitting 6 boundaries.
Nigar and Fahima Khatun helped Bangladesh recover from 89/4 (in 15.2 overs). Fahima stayed till the end for her 25-ball 26* runs with 3 fours.
Bangladesh women required four wins to win off the last over from Eimear Richardson. Sanjida Islam and Fahima took three singles off the first four balls. Sanjida was run out on the fifth ball. An inside-edge from Fahima ensured Bangladesh a thrilling last-over win in the first T20I.
The second T20I will be on Thursday, the same day when
will take on Ireland at the same venue, Malahide.
