Leach did not play in the last Ashes due to injury. He came fit to play in India. But the injury did not leave behind here. This time Leach has to undergo knee surgery. Leech himself confirmed the surgery in a recent interview with the BBC.
Leach told the BBC, "I'm going to have an operation to get the rest of the swelling out because it's not budging. It was quite an unfortunate one. It was the second ball of the first innings in the field, so that whole game I was playing with this knee problem. I obviously knocked it a few times throughout that game and it has just created a long period of recovery. I need to get the operation done and then hopefully I can get back to playing cricket."
Leach will undergo knee surgery on Tuesday, February 27. Leach bowled 36 overs in the Hyderabad Test with an injury. He took 2 wickets. England got a historic win by 28 runs in the match. Currently, however, the English are trailing by 2-1 in the series.
