"I cried", Sarfaraz Khan breaks his silence after not being picked for Australia Tests
Suryakumar was called up to the Test team. He has not played red-ball cricket for a long time. Needless to say, the inclusion of Suryakumar has created a lot of discussion by ignoring the regular performer Sarfaraz.

Sarfaraz Khan, who has played well recently in the Ranji Trophy, has not been called up for the Test series against Australia at home. Instead of him, Suryakumar Yadav, who has not played at home in red-ball for a long time, has got a chance in the Test team.
Suryakumar is regarded as a T20 batter. The way he plays fearless cricket in this format of cricket shows that Suryakumar has adapted to this format. He even got a chance in the ODI team.
After T20 and ODIs, Suryakumar has been called up to the Test team as well. However, the journey to get his place in the team in India was not easy for him. He had to wait for a long time to get a call to the national team.
Sarfaraz Khan, who played great in India's domestic cricket, had to accept the same fate. He scored 928 runs at 154.66 in the 2019-20 Ranji Trophy season. He scored 982 runs on 122.75 in the 2021-22 season. Even in the ongoing Ranji Trophy, he scored more than 500 runs with the bat.
After spending such a great season with the bat, he did not get an opportunity in the national team. Suryakumar was called up to the Test team. He has not played red-ball cricket for a long time. Needless to say, the inclusion of Suryakumar has created a lot of discussion by ignoring the regular performer Sarfaraz.
Sarfaraz himself has opened his mouth about this issue. In an interview to an Indian journalist, he said, “Obviously, it is (on Suryakumar’s selection being inspirational). Suryakumar is a good friend of mine. And we spend a lot of time together when we are in the team together.
“I get to learn a lot of things from him. He had to wait for a long time but the way he has been playing, he has taken on his experience together, so that makes things easy.”
Sarfaraz cried when he didn’t see his name in India's squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. “When the team was announced and my name wasn’t there, I was very sad. Anyone in my place in this world would’ve been sad, because I had expected to be picked, but wasn’t (chosen).
“Yesterday, I was sad the whole day, when we travelled from Guwahati to Delhi. I was thinking about what and why it happened. I was feeling very lonely. I cried too,” Sarfaraz added.
