As Pakistan prepare for the second Test against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi, head coach Jason Gillespie shared insights from the team's camp during a pre-match press conference. Gillespie emphasized the importance of staying positive and learning from the first Test, where Pakistan faced a disappointing loss.

Reflecting on the challenges posed by the weather, Gillespie mentioned that they were cautious about finalizing their playing XI. "We wanted to name 12 because obviously with the conditions, we haven't been able to really look at the surface much the last couple of days because of the weather. We want to be as informed as we possibly can be tomorrow morning to make the best decision we can in order to field the best side to take 20 wickets," Gillespie said.

Despite the loss in the first Test, Gillespie encouraged his players to play to their strengths and maintain a positive approach. He added, "We've got some very skillful players. I want the players to go out and play to their strengths, our individual players. As a team, we want to go out there and play positive. Everyone's got a different interpretation of what positive means. Positive doesn't mean you go out there and try and hit fours and sixes every ball. It's about your energy, your body language."

The head coach highlighted the importance of maintaining discipline and being consistent with their bowling. "With our bowling, we want to be ruthless with our disciplines, our lines and lengths. We want to keep going at the batsman and hitting that good spot on the wicket where we're challenging the defense of the opposition players. We want to be able to do that consistently over and over again," he further said.

Gillespie acknowledged that the team couldn't train much due to the weather, but he praised the energy and enthusiasm within the squad. "Look, we're obviously disappointed to lose that first Test. We've unpacked that, we've reviewed it, and we've parked that. That game's gone. There's absolutely nothing we can do about it now. But what we can do is focus on the game starting tomorrow. The lads are up and about. They're excited. They're really looking forward to this game."

As Pakistan prepare to face Bangladesh in the second and final Test, Gillespie remains confident in his team's ability to bounce back. "We've learned our lessons, and hopefully we can apply those learnings into this game starting tomorrow. We know it's going to be a challenge, but we're up for the battle and really looking forward to it," he concluded.

Pakistan will be aiming to level the series after their loss in the first Test, where Bangladesh secured a comprehensive victory by 10 wickets.
