Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are one of the most star-studded teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Known for their explosive batting and match-winning performances, they lifted their maiden IPL trophy in 2016 by getting the better of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in a high-octane final.
Nitish Reddy and Ishan Kishan
Since then, they reached two more finals, losing to CSK and KKR in 2018 and 2024 seasons. Over the years, SRH has not just been a strong contender but also a trendsetter in T20 cricket.
They are the only team that has consistently pushed the boundaries of high-scoring games, coming closer than any other side toward the 300-run mark in IPL history.
On multiple occasions, they fell just 13 or 14 runs short, rewriting records along the way. Let's take a look at SRH’s highest IPL totals.
1. 287/3 - SRH vs RCB, Bengaluru, 2024
At the Chinnaswamy Stadium, SRH redefined T20 batting with an electrifying performance, breaking their own record from earlier in the season.
Travis Head led the charge with a blistering 102 off 41 balls, while Heinrich Klaasen hammered 67 off 31. Abdul Samad's late fireworks (37 off 10) ensured SRH reached 287 for 3, securing a 25-run glory.
2. 286/6 - SRH vs RR, Hyderabad, 2025
As IPL 2025 began, the cricketing world wondered if the elusive 300-run milestone would finally be breached. Once again, SRH looked set to make history but fell 14 runs short. The top five batters, including debutant Ishan Kishan, batted at a strike rate above 200. Kishan stole the show with his maiden IPL century, but SRH ended at 286 for 6, just shy of rewriting history.
3. 277/3 - SRH vs MI, Hyderabad, 2024
SRH’s batting carnage in Hyderabad shattered an 11-year-old record. RCB’s 263 for 5 (2013) was considered unbeatable, but SRH proved otherwise. Heinrich Klaasen anchored the innings with an unbeaten 80 off 34 balls, while Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma hammered rapid half-centuries. Mumbai Indians fought hard but fell short, handing SRH a 31-run win.
4. 266/7 - SRH vs DC, Delhi, 2024
In Delhi, SRH delivered a T20 powerplay like no other, racing to 125/0 in six overs. Head and Abhishek Sharma unleashed brutal hitting, making 300 look inevitable. However, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel applied the brakes in the middle overs. Still, Shahbaz Ahmed’s 59 off 29 took them to 266 for 7, which was another dominant total in their record-breaking season.
