Former South African batter Colin Ingram has signed a two-year contract extension with Glamorgan. Ingram, 37, will be one of the club's foreign players in 2023 alongside Marnus Labuschagne and Michael Neser.
Ingram has scored over 6,500 runs and won 63 wickets in 157 appearances in all formats for Glamorgan and is the club's leading runs scorer in T20 cricket, with 2,357 runs at 34.15, including three centuries and 15 half centuries.
In 2022, he contributed with the racquet in all three formats, scoring 596 runs at 66.22 (three centuries) in five games of the LV = Insurance County Championship, 342 runs at 68.40 in the Royal London Cup, and 152 runs on the team T20 explosion.
As part of his new contract, Ingram will continue in his role as mentor to the club's young batters and coach on the Glamorgan path.
"I'm thrilled to have signed this new deal with Glamorgan," said Ingram. "I've really enjoyed my cricket this season and returned to the Red Ball Arena where I probably had my best year for the club.
“We were close to promotion and next year I want to help us achieve that goal and hopefully win the Vitality Blast which remains one of my main goals in cricket.
"Wales is my home and I can't wait to play another two years for the club and continue to work with the next generation of Welsh cricketers."
Glamorgan struggled to gain promotion from Division Two of the Championship until the final round of play, despite failing to defend their Royal London Cup title and finishing sixth in the South Group of the Blast.
Glamorgan's director of cricket Mark Wallace said: "Colin has been in exceptional form this season and looked like he was playing better than ever. We know he's a brilliant white ball player but it was amazing to see him deliver those County Championship performances after a few years away from red ball cricket.
Ingram is set to play for the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in the UAE T10 in January 2023.
