Abahani Limited crashed Gazi Group by 7 wickets on Saturday (30th March) in Dhaka Premier League (DPL). Infront of the formidable bowling lineup of Abahani, barring Mehdy Maruf no one could stand tall for Gazi Group. In reply, Anamul Haque Bijoy's fantastic hundred and a fifty from Jaker Ali Anik took them over the line.

Earlier, batting first, Gazi Group's openers added 45 runs in the opening stand before Tanzim Hasan Sakib removed Anisul Haque on 19. Sabbir Hossain too followed his way back to the hut. And then Saifuddin had Parvez Jibon cheaply. But skipper Mehdy Maruf stood tall in other end to steer the ship. He also notched up a brilliant fifty and scored 60 off 73 balls before being trapped to Saifuddin.
After the departure of their skipper, Gazi Group kept losing wickets on regular basis.

Though they had some here and there cameos from the middle and lower order batters but that were not substantial but managed to cross 200 mark barrier.

In reply, Naim Sheikh was gone earlier of the innings as he fell on 19 runs. And then Jaker Ali and Anamul Haque Bijoy strung a huge partnership to steer the ship towards the target. Both of them notched up their fifties in the process of play as Bijoy got off 61 balls, while Jaker Ali had with 63 balls. The duo added 122 runs which almost killed the chase in a jiffy.

Jaker Ali departed after scoring 58, but Bijoy was going strongly and brought a magnificent hundred which aided Abahani to chase down the total. Bijoy scored 107 runs off 118 balls and gave Abahani a thumping win. Abahani have won 7 out of 7 matches in this DPL.
