Bangladesh’s women footballers continue to shine on the international stage, bringing home accolades that uplift the nation. After the women’s team clinched their second consecutive SAFF title, BCB President Faruque Ahmed announced a reward of BDT 20 lakh for the team. At a special ceremony held at the BCB office, the promised cheque was handed over to team captain Sabina Khatun by Faruque Ahmed. Also present at the event were BCB directors Nazmul Abedeen Fahim, Fahim Sinha, and the women’s team media manager Mahamuda Akter.

This marks Bangladesh’s second consecutive SAFF Championship win. In the 2022 edition, the women’s team defeated Nepal 3-1 in the final to claim the trophy. This year, they repeated the feat, edging past Nepal with a 2-1 victory to secure their place as champions.

BCB President Faruk Ahmed has been vocal in his praise for the women footballers. Upon their victory, he lauded their dedication and skill and emphasized the significance of their success in inspiring the nation.
