The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, initially set to take place in Bangladesh this October, has been relocated to the UAE due to the recent political turmoil in the country. With a new venue comes a revised schedule and group announcement, and the ICC has now also released the warm-up match schedule.

The tournament will kick off on October 3rd, culminating in the final on October 20th. A total of 23 matches will be played across two venues: Dubai and Sharjah. Prior to the main event, ten warm-up matches will be held between September 28th and October 1st.

Bangladesh are slated to play its first warm-up match against Sri Lanka on September 28th at ICC Academy Ground 1 in Dubai. Their second warm-up match, against Pakistan, is scheduled for September 30th at ICC Academy Ground 2. All warm-up matches will begin at 8:00 PM Bangladesh time.

The World Cup’s group stage will start on October 3rd, with Bangladesh facing Scotland in the opening match at 4:00 PM Bangladesh time. Bangladesh will also compete against England, West Indies, and South Africa in the group stage.

The relocation of the tournament to the UAE underscores the challenges posed by the ongoing political instability in Bangladesh, but the ICC is committed to ensuring the tournament proceeds smoothly in its new location.
