As Bangladesh’s legendary "Fabulous Five" era draws to a close, the spotlight now shifts to the younger generation. National team's Senior Assistant Coach, Mohammad Salahuddin, has his sights set on nurturing emerging players and believes that, like Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, and Mushfiqur Rahim, today’s young cricketers need both time and structured guidance to develop into stars.
In a media session at Mirpur, Salahuddin commented on this critical transition, saying, "When Shakib, Tamim, and others began, they weren’t top players from day one. Over years of dedication, hard work, and inspiration, they reached their heights. These young players are no different; they just need the right guidance to become the stars of tomorrow. We have to stay hopeful and support them."
Elaborating on his approach, Salahuddin noted, “As an assistant coach, my role is to support the head coach's philosophy, helping players as much as possible. It’s different from before, and my focus will be on building their confidence and ensuring clear communication between them and the foreign coaches. The aim is for them to be mentally strong and fully utilize their potential. I believe they’re capable of great things.”
