India pacer Arshdeep Singh claimed that playing against the Pakistani bowlers gave him more self-assurance in his batting abilities.

In the T20 World Cup 2024 match, the young player was instrumental in helping India set a difficult target of 120 runs on a field that was tough to bat on at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. He scored 9 runs off 13 balls, including a four. Later, India won the match by 6 runs.

The claimed that after defeating Pakistan's fearsome pace attack, which included players like Mohammad Amir, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, and Shaheen Shah Afridi, his confidence had skyrocketed.

“We are always learning, always trying to get better at all the skills, be it bowling, batting, or fielding, because you never know when the team need those runs. It can be two runs, four runs, anything. So, you just have to give your best. And I am trying to work as hard as possible with Vikram Bhai regarding my batting as well,” Arshdeep said.

“And an instance from the last game, Jassi (Jasprit Bumrah) Bhai was supposed to go before me, but I just went in after asking Rohit. They were surprised with it, but now I told them I will go up regardless of whatever you say. I will go at nine because I faced the quickest bowlers in the last game. So yeah, that's the plan now. I am very confident about my batting. And be it fielding or bowling, you just try to keep getting better,” Arshdeep added.
