The cricketer-turned-commentator Ian Bishop reserved the highest respect for Shreyas Iyer for the way he led the Kolkata Knight Riders so far in the ongoing IPL 2024. Under his tutelage, KKR has operated at a high level, switched gears when it mattered the most in the league stage.

Rightly so, they are on top of the points table. Having played 11 games so far, Shreyas Iyer and Co. won eight games and lost the remaining three matches. KKR picked up 16 points and have a Net Run Rate of +1.453. Recently, they notched up a humongous 98-run win over LSG in Lucknow.
They are a step closer to qualifying for the playoffs and their route seems pretty clear now. With all the bases covered, KKR look to be a formidable force to be reckoned with in the tournament. Meanwhile, Ian Bishop lauded Shreyas Iyer's captaincy for KKR's turnaround in IPL 2024.
After KKR's win over LSG, Ian Bishop took to his official X handle (previously called Twitter) and wrote, "Any love for Shreyas Iyer????" Furthermore, he also pointed out Iyer has turned out to be an excellent captaincy material as far as the shortest format of the game is concerned.
"Shreyas became DC captain in 2018 when GG stepped down after DC lost 5 of first 6 gms. DC then finished the season winning 4 of next 8 games. 2019 DC 3rd, 2020 DC 2nd. 2021 injury & only 8gms so Pant captained. To KKR 2022, new franchise, 7th. Missed 2023. 2024," he tweeted.
"So GG gets the praise when they win. Shreyas gets the blame if they lose? Or will you say its GG's fault to if they lose?" the former West Indies cricketer added.
