India, getting furious upon hearing the International Cricket Council’s decision about not taking any action for ‘DRS’ saga in Bengaluru Test, have reportedly decided to appeal against it. Earlier ICC announced that no bans, fines or charges of any form would be imposed upon any conflicting side in the Test where the home team picked up a grueling win of 75 runs over Australia.
Steve Smith was seen to take advice from dressing room staff through gestures whether to take the DRS or not in the fourth day of the Test. In post-match press appearance, Indian captain Virat Kohli accused the counterpart for ‘systematically cheating’.
According to reports of one of Indian news agency NDTV, BCCI will supposedly demand a ‘rethink’ from ICC on their decision of ‘not taking any action’; “Unhappy with the decision, the BCCI will now appeal the decision on Thursday” – the report said.
The report also said, “The incident had been mentioned in the captain and the coach’s report after the match. Once the appeal is lodged, the umpires will be asked to file their report, following which the ICC will decide on hearing the appeal. The Indian team management had written to ICC match referee Chris Broad seeking a decision from the world cricket body.”
