Mumbai Indians thumped Lucknow Super Giants to reach the qualifier 2 with Gujrat Titans. They had beaten LSG by a huge margin of 81 runs to keep themself in the final race.

Mumbai winning the toss chose to bat first and their openers gave them a dream start. The opening stand added 30 runs inside 3 overs before Rohit and Ishan fell to Yash Thakur and Naveen Ul Haq. Aussie young all rounder Cameron Green yet again stood high for MI to the occasion and scored a fantastic 41 off only 23 deliveries with a jaw dropping strike rate of 178.26.

MI's another star batter Suryakumer got a fine start and raced to 33 off 20 balls before falling to Naveen. Tilak Varma scored 26 runs while Nehal Wadhera finished things off nicely and put a competitive total of 182-8 after 20 overs.

Naveen Ul Haq was the standout bowler from LSG as he scalped four wickets to his name conceding 38 runs in his four over quota. While Yash Thakur had a 3 wicket haul.

Climbing the total, LSG fell into a deep sea. They lost Prerak Mankad in the 2nd over, while Kayle Mayers too was gone in 4th over.

Barring Marcus Stoinis no one stood up to the occasion. Everyone choked miserably infront of a firing MI attack. Stoinis top scoring of 40 off 27 balls before falling to an unlucky run out. Ayush Badoni scored 1, while Pooran got a duck. Hooda made only 15 off 13 balls and rest became mere a formality for MI to wrap things up. And hence, MI won the match by a massive margin of 81 runs.

Akash Madhwal from MI had a fantastic five wicket haul which totally obliterated LSG in the eliminator. With the win MI booked their tickets for Ahmedabad to play the qualifier 2 with GT for the race of final.
